Renewable energy – (r?-n??’?-b?l en-er-jee) – any naturally occurring, theoretically inexhaustible source of energy, as biomass, solar, wind, tidal, wave, and hydroelectric power, that is not derived from fossil or nuclear fuel.

The installation of renewable energy is a great investment in the future of our planet, as well as incrementally decreasing the production of greenhouse gases; these are goals every citizen should reach to attain. Whether it is as small as turning off unused lights or as big as investing in a renewable energy system, awareness of the problem is the first step.

Our system is a grid tied photovoltaic solar array which offsets the electricity currently purchased from Pennsylvania Power & Light. The system converts solar energy into DC power through an array of solar cells. This power is converted to utility grade AC electricity with a central inverter. The AC power is then fed into a main electrical panel to supplement the electricity supplied by the grid. During the periods when our solar array is producing more power than is required by our business load, the excess power is fed back into the grid. We are able to receive retail price for all the excess power we generate…and…OUR METER ACTUALLY SPINS BACKWARDS!!!
